  SUGAR ALERT – VIOlent Virus
By Dean Jones, C.P.M.

The World Health Organization finds this new strain of flu credibly violent.  They have named it ‘H1N1’ because it is the first level of Influenza A, a most common cause of flu in humans.  H1N1 is prevalent in pigs (swine influenza) and birds (avian influenza).

Protection from flu comes with strong immune systems, because any drop in its efficiency will make you extremely defenseless to H1N1.  Eating refined sugar definitely depresses the immune system.  Vitamin C is needed by white blood cells so that they can swallow up and destroy viruses and bacteria.  However, vitamin C and glucose (sugar) have similar chemical structures, so they end up competing to see who enters the blood cell first.

As a result, if there is more glucose around, there is going to be less vitamin C allowed into the cell and it does not take much.  Once the body’s defense becomes comprised the type of disease you want to stop moves to ineffectual, whether if it is a common cold, cardiovascular disease, cancer or osteoporosis, the root is always going to be at the cellular and molecular level, and more often than not insulin is going to have its hand in it, if not totally controlling it.

The health dangers derived from habitual sugar ingestion can aggravate asthma, move mood swings, provoke personality changes, form mental illness, feed nervous disorders, bring about diabetes and heart disease, grow gallstones, and add arthritis.  Simply because refined sugars lack minerals and vitamins, it extracts the body's micro-nutrients in order to be metabolized into the system.  The biggest drawback from eating sugar is that it raises the insulin level, which inhibits the release of growth hormones, which in turn depresses the immune system.

This is not something you want to take place if you want to avoid contracting the H1N1 virus.  The sugar alert is to beware that soft drink makers like Coca-Cola are more concerned about profits than health.  For example, this corporation just introduced a new product call VIO.  It reports to have 15 percent of the daily recommended intake of calcium, but it also has 26 grams (plus 1.5 grams of fat) of refined sugar per 8-ounce aluminum bottle.  It is a carbonated drink trying to pass as a natural food beverage because of its skimmed cow’s milk and cream content.

No one want s to get sick, at least it seems that the very essence desired by all is to feel good.  Feeling good is a great intention to have, because when we feel good, we can more readily attract our desired outcomes.  The Universe treats everyone the same and you will only feel as well as you are willing to treat yourself right.
